Del Monte started the current troubles for the Hawai'ian's in 2006 when they closed the Pineapple Plantation on Oahu
and kicked 5 (FIVE) Generations of plantation FAMILIES off their tiny homes
and land. Del Monte in the next week plowed all the pineapples under in the
enormous fields, so no one would 'profit!". Obviously 'Del Monte" has
never gone hungry. They have gone to Mexico and India to pay less for labor! Why this
matters so much is if you go back to the names of the 7 white men who
steered the annexation of Hawaii to America, Del Monte IS ONE! Then these same
fellows became the future governors of all the Hawaiian Lands and Laws
(taught the Hawaiians how to 'own' land, and divide it and in the end lose
it.). What Del Monte did was shameful.
Many small corporations followed in 2007 moving to Mexico or India. Then
the Weyerhaeuser Box Making Co. because it "just wasn't" making
them a profit.
And now 60 year old ALOHA AIRLINES has bankrupted! A true Ohana stood
that last nite in the terminal and cried together, some having worked
there 30-40 years for Aloha. They may have lost everything. But Aloha Cargo is (how
we get our mail on the outer Islands after it is flown into Honolulu)
currently in a huge bidding war. The Pilots may strike. April 21

I
always recommend "Hawaiian Airlines" because the minute you board you become
surrounded
with
"Aloha" and if you keep checking they run great specials.
And they are a 65 year old Hawaiian Airline with an excellent record.
April 2008: Hawaiian Airlines came to the rescue of thousands of stranded
passengers after Aloha Airlines went out of business in one week. ATA went the next.
I know it is only business but I hate Go and Mesa Air, for Price Gouging,
in one week their inter island fares went from 39.95 ROUND TRIP to $160.00
ONE WAY!. Got what they wanted didn't they! They have displaced
thousands of Hawaiian's that were 'Family" in their
company. And Mesa Air (Go Airlines} Reaps the 'profits'.
