I always recommend "Hawaiian Airlines" because the minute you board you become surrounded with "Aloha" and if you keep checking they run great specials. A 65 year old Hawaiian Airline with an excellent record. March/April 2008: Hawaiian Airlines came to the rescue of thousands of stranded passengers after Aloha Airlines went out of business in one week. ATA went the next. I know it is only business but I do not approve of Go and Mesa Air, for 2 years of Price Gouging. The week after they KILLED ALOHA GO'S inter-island fares went from 39.95 ROUND TRIP to $160.00 ONE WAY!. Got what they wanted didn't they!  They have displaced thousands of Hawaiian's that were 'Family' Ohana in their company. And Mesa Air (Go Airlines} Evilly Reaps the 'profits'. MORE     Just my humble opinion! When will it become better to give than to get as much as you can take.

If you have come for the nightlife 'honolulu' 'waikiki' this is the wrong island the big island of hawaii is very, v-e-r-y "hawai'i time" and has;  the volcano, the rainforests, the world observatories, The Doorway to the Gods, The Sacred Healing Triangle, The Place of Refuge. Kona. Puna. Hilo and auntie+faith (a lifetime of new photos)

We swim with dolphins, wild and free dolphins, in Hawaii. Swimming with dolphins is a transcendental experience. Dolphins are telepathic, tantric beings. Dolphins choose whom they will swim with, these special and sometimes silly dolphin beings, whom the Hawaiians call heart-beings. Spiritual Retreats on both the Kona and Puna Coast’s of the Big Island of Hawaii are our specialty,  but we have many other offerings. The Hawaiians call the dolphins "heart beings, not of this world."

The Hawai'ians had no words in their language for owning property, land, before the white man, (missionaries) helped sell it to the business (church) men, who helped annex it (overthrow the Monarchy) to the US in 1893. (Keeping a great amount for them selves. example Mr. Dole, whose grandchild company just kicked 5 generations of plantation workers off their "land and property???" And plowed thousands and thousands of pineapple into the ground so no one would benefit. It is no longer profitable for the Dole Co. to grow here, they have moved to Mexico and beyond.)

Of Hawaii's 4.1 million acres, The government owns 38 percent and eight large land owners own 20 percent; 48 percent of all the land in the state is conservation, 47 percent is agricultural, less than five percent is urban and .25 percent is rural; in the last 20 years, 36,000 acres of agricultural land was redesignated to either urban (29,000 acres) and conservation (7,000 acres)

One-third of all endangered species in the U.S. are in Hawaii; there are 343 marine alien species here; 64 percent of streams and half of bays and estuaries have been designated as impaired; 95 percent of our shorelines show good water quality; 73 percent of our public water supply wells contain chemical compounds, though levels do not exceed federal standards in most cases; the shift from plantation to diversified agriculture means less pesticide but a greater variety of pesticides are used; Land and water management is done by different levels of government rather than traditional, mountain-to-the-sea, integrated management.
